A very early morning coastal walk from Garlieston Caravan and Motorhome Club Site towards Sorbie Tower, beginning around the harbour and coastal village before continuing through open countryside. The route was flat and accessible, with 21 species identified including Greater Whitethroat, Sedge Warbler, White Wagtail and Great Spotted Woodpecker.

A longer walk from Simonstone towards Towneley Hall, mainly following the former railway line towards Burnley before continuing by local roads and footways after Padiham. The overcast route covered railway corridor, woodland, hedgerows, open grassland and urban fringe habitat, with Goldcrest the most notable sighting.
